4 STEPS FROM LEARNER'S PERMIT TO PDA TEST
STEP 1 GET YOUR LEARNER'S PERMIT
For C Classe licenses, you need to:
Attend at your local licensing centre
Be aged 16
Pass a theory test (score 24/30 or more)
Pass an eyesight test
Show proof of identity
After that, the licensing centre will give you a 50 hour log book/ Learn&log App and a learner's permit. If you are aged 25 or over, you will not be required to complete a log book

STEP 2 START LEARNING TO DRIVE & COMPLETE THE LOG BOOK
Practice makes perfect. Try to log hours at different times of the day, in different weather and traffic conditions, that way you will be better prepared for driving on your own safely.
You need to build your experience and record a minimum of 50 supervised driving hours (5 hours to be completed at night).
STEP 3 PASS YOUR HAZARD PERCEPTION TEST (HPT)
The HPT is a computer based test that uses moving traffic scenes to measure your ability to assess a situation and make safe driving decisions. Students can practice on the DoT website.
To sit the HPT, you need to be:
16 years & 6 months or older
Held a learner's permit for a minimum of 6 months
Present your learner's permit
Show identification eg: passport, international drivers license
STEP 4 PRACTICAL DRIVING ASSESSMENT (PDA TEST)
You must bring your learner's permit, log book and ID and arrive 10 minutes early.
The PDA test will take between 30 to 40 minutes and 5 sections including 3 driving sections and 2 out of 3 exercises, each exercise consists 2 manoeuvres.
